Ingredients

  • 8 ounces about 225 grams of high-quality chocolate (dark, milk, or white, depending on your preference)
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or pistachios)
  • 1/4 cup of dried fruits (such as cranberries, apricots, or raisins)
  • 2 tablespoons of shredded coconut (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons of mini pretzels or crushed pretzel pieces (optional)
  • A pinch of sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

Prepare Toppings:

  • Chop nuts and dried fruits into small, bite-sized pieces.
  • If using pretzels, crush them into small bits.

Melt Chocolate:

  • Break the chocolate into small, evenly sized pieces for faster melting.
  • Use a double boiler or microwave to melt the chocolate. If using a microwave, heat in 20 to 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.

Spread Chocolate:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper, spreading it into a thin and even layer using a spatula.

Add Toppings:

  • Quickly sprinkle the chopped nuts, dried fruits, shredded coconut, and crushed pretzels over the melted chocolate. Gently press them into the chocolate to ensure they stick.

Set and Chill:

  • Allow the chocolate bark to cool at room temperature for a few minutes.
  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours or until the chocolate hardens.

Break Into Pieces:

  • Once the chocolate is completely set, remove it from the refrigerator.
  • Use your hands or a knife to break the chocolate into rustic pieces.

Serve:

  • Arrange the chocolate bark on a serving plate and enjoy! Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top for added flavor.
