- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons gelatin
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Prepare Gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water. Allow it to sit and bloom for about 5 minutes.
Heat Cream Mixture: In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, and the mixture is warm but not boiling.
Add Gelatin: Remove the cream mixture from heat. Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until completely dissolved.
Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour into Molds: Strain the mixture to ensure a smooth texture, then pour it into two ramekins or molds.
Chill: Place the ramekins in the refrigerator and let them chill for at least 4 hours or until set.
Serve: Once set, you can serve the panna cotta on its own or with your choice of toppings like fresh berries, fruit coulis, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
