Ingredients

  • 1 pound 450g ground beef (preferably 80/20 lean to fat ratio)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 tomato (sliced)
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: sliced red onion (pickles, bacon)

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Season both sides of the patties generously with salt and pepper.
  • Place the burger patties on the preheated grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each burger patty and allow it to melt.
  • While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  • Once the burgers are cooked to your liking and the cheese is melted, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a minute.
  • To assemble the burgers, spread a tablespoon of ranch dressing on the bottom half of each hamburger bun.
  • Place a cooked burger patty on top of the ranch dressing.
  • Add a slice of tomato and a lettuce leaf on top of each burger patty.
  • Top with the other half of the hamburger bun.
  • Serve the ranch burgers immediately with your favorite sides like french fries, potato chips, or a fresh salad.
